Lessons from a cow..

So, I usually wouldn't use a Far Side to illustrate a Biblical truth, but this was the first thing that came to my mind last night when Greg and I were talking about contentment! Most people when looking at this cartoon laugh because how ridiculous is it that a cow that should be out in the field eating grass isn't content with a home, pearls, and wine?

From a Christian perspective, how even more ridiculous is it that sinful humans who are but dust are discontent when they are blessed with endless spiritual blessing, their sins covered by Christ, and the God of the universe who they can know? Hebrews 13:5 says:

"Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, "I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR
WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU,"

It's more understandable that the cow wouldn't be content than the Christian. The cow knows nothing but seeking contentment in worldly gain. Christians are left without excuse. We have the source of true contentment. So convicting!
